How are ice cream cakes made?
They look pretty easy. My birthday is coming up soon and i don't wanna buy a regular cake because cakes usually end up on people's faces and on the floor in my family. So i plan to make an ice cream cake because store bought ones are expensive around $40.
I think i have an idea of how they're made. 1. get a baking pan of desired size 2. fill halfway with ice cream 3. put oreo crumbs or other confections and spread them out. 4. pill other half with ice cream 5. freeze 6. remove cake. 7. decorate
Could I do it this way?
I love ice cream cake i make this one all the time. This is always a favorite and it is extremely easy, almost TOO easy! Perfect for birthdays.
1 container Ice cream
1 (1/2 gallon) container mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 package Oreo cookies
Allow the ice cream to melt in a large bowl till it is just a thick, soupy mixture.
Crush the entire package of Oreos in a food processor.
Mix the melted ice cream and the cool whip together.
Take a 9 by 13 pan and layer the Oreos and the ice cream mixture.
Start with the ice cream and then add Oreos then the ice cream and so on.
Put it in the freezer over night or at least 8 hours covered in plastic wrap and then serve with dribbled chocolate sauce on top.
