Have you read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy?
What are your thoughts on it were? Does it live up to its reputation?
I am just curious because it is quite the lengthy novel, so what is your take on it?
I thought it was a wonderful, magnificent, awe-inspiring and moving book, although it took me a while to read (maybe 2 months). It is well worth reading - I would recommend it to anyone. By the time I got to the final part I was reading for hours a day, because I was so engrossed in the story and the lives of these intricately described characters and their families.
If you wanted to try something shorter (although still a lengthy novel!) by Tolstoy, I would recommend Anna Karenina, which is my favourite ever novel.
Edit: I have to agree with Becca about Resurrection; it's fantastic.
